Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) is a product of the condensation of polyvinyl alcohol and butyral under acid catalysis
1. The produced film is used as a sandwich material for making safety glass, which has good transparency and high impact strength, and is widely used in the aviation and automotive fields.
2. Used for manufacturing corrosion-resistant coatings, metal base coatings with strong rust prevention ability, good adhesion and water resistance, and cold resistant paints.
3. Used for manufacturing brightly patterned thin film flower paper, which can replace ceramic flower paper. The resin industry is used to manufacture pressed plastics that replace non-ferrous metals such as steel and lead, and can be formulated into various adhesives. Widely used for bonding wood, ceramics, metals, plastics, leather, laminated materials, etc.
4. Used for manufacturing fabric treatment agents and yarn tubes. The food industry is used to manufacture non-toxic packaging materials.
5. The paper industry is used to manufacture paper processing agents. In addition, it can also be used to manufacture anti shrink agents, stiffening agents, and other waterproof materials.
6. Flexible printing, gravure printing, embossing, screen printing, and heat transfer printing can be used in the printing industry. Due to their solubility in alcohols and non toxicity, the printed materials do not have residual odors. They can be used in packaging that is sensitive to odors in the food industry, such as tea/cigarettes. Due to its cationic nature, the resin has adhesion to glass surfaces with strong anions, making it particularly suitable for decorative screen printing on glass panels.
