Product Description

2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate is an organic compound with the molecular formula C6H10O3 and a molecular weight of 130.1418. It is a colorless, transparent, and easily flowing liquid.

Used for synthesizing medical polymer materials, thermosetting coatings, adhesives, etc

1. Mainly used for modifying resins and coatings. By copolymerizing with other acrylic monomers, acrylic resins containing active hydroxyl groups on the side chains can be prepared, which can undergo esterification and crosslinking reactions to synthesize insoluble resins and improve adhesion. They can be used as fiber treatment agents, etc. Reacting together with melamine formaldehyde (or urea formaldehyde) resin, epoxy resin, etc., it is used to manufacture two-component coatings. Adding it to high-end car paint can maintain a mirror like luster for a long time. It can also be used as an adhesive for synthetic textiles and as a medical polymer monomer.
2. It is used to produce resins for coatings, automotive topcoats and primers, as well as photopolymer resins, printing boards, inks, gel (contact lenses) and tinning material coatings, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and optical microscopy (LM) embedding reagents, especially for hydration samples of "sensitive antigen sites". White watery, viscous, thinner than water, and more permeable than any resin or monomer. Specially used for working with bones, cartilage, and plant tissues that are difficult to penetrate.
3. The plastic industry is used to manufacture acrylic esters containing active hydroxyl groups. The coating industry uses epoxy resin, diisocyanate, melamine formaldehyde resin, and other formulations to produce two-component coatings. The oil industry uses it as an additive for lubricating oil washing. Used as a dehydrating agent for electron microscopes in the electronics industry. Adhesives used in the textile industry for manufacturing fabrics. Used as a chemical reagent in analytical chemistry.
